Vivienne Mitchley

Vivienne Mitchley

Mrs. V Mitchley is the founder and Director of Northcliff House College which started in 2000. In 2014 the Hermanus Visual Art and Design Centre was launched, by Mrs. Mitchley and Mrs. Marinier. This catered to the needs of Design learners in the Overberg from Grades 10-12 and the needs of the Hawston Mount Pleasant area for art classes after school.

Currently, I am at Curro for the development of their Visual Arts from Grades 10-12 and based in Hawston to run junior and senior projects.

I am Ronaldo Bantom, currently studying to improve my art and business skills. My passion is to help everyone who wants to be an artist or who has the passion or talent for art. I love working with kids. My goal for Hawston is to inspire young students and help them achieve their artistic dreams. I would also like the Hawston program to grow as much as possible so that people can recognise the amazing hidden talent in Hawston, giving people the opportunity to expose themselves to the art industry. As a young artist, art has always been my passion, and I would love to share my skills with our younger generation.

Art training has transformed my life, taking me on a journey of self-discovery to uncover my artistic talent and guiding me towards a fulfilling future. I received art training as a scholar through the project, and am grateful for the opportunities that come my way as a result. Currently, I am actively involved in the Hermanus Youth Project at Hawston Secondary School, helping students with art. With the support of sponsors, I now have an exciting and proud opportunity that I cherish. Every moment of my involvement in this project brings me joy.

I am a trained designer and have been involved in various community upliftment projects that use art and creativity as tools for empowerment. On Thursday afternoons, I facilitate the Art Therapy sessions, where we create art for transformation in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space. Working creatively with these children brings me great joy and fulfillment.

I am a pencil artist with a strong passion for art and experience in both pencil drawing and painting. I am eager to learn more about pencil drawings, and to explore opportunities where I can contribute my skills while continuing to grow professionally. Currently, I work as an assistant, supporting art classes at both the primary and secondary school levels, as well as in the therapy class.
